Happy New Year to you all.  Its New Year’s day while I write this and I am experiencing an internet outage. Nothing. The router is working and Wi-Fi is being broadcast, but the connection coming in to the house is off. No big issue for most people, but when you run your house on automated device, (lights, shopping list, TV, weather station which are all controlled through voice commands and Alexa, ) it become difficult! I actually have to get up to turn the lights on!  

Anyway. This month, I am going to take a look at New Years promotions. Ill do some research on my phone and see how we get on.  

First up. Antivirus. I am currently with BitDefender and I am happy with them, there is an offer from them at the moment for their Premium Security has huge reductions at the moment. SurfShark have started offering an antivirus and VPN package which currently has 86% off. So for less than 3GBP a month, you can have complete antivirus and VPN protection. For remote assistance, RemotePC has a fab offer at the moment. 90% off their normal packages for the first year. I have used them for a number of years and find their software to be easy to use and reliable, including being able to remote connect from a web browser, which some similar providers do not offer. www.remotepc.com 

There are numerous websites out there with various discounts. If you know what you want (antivirus, operating systems, VPN, video editing etc), you can normally find an offer if you just search for it. EG Adobe discount. The first link shows the offers adobe has. Sometimes you have to troll through coupon sites to find the best deal and sometimes you have to be willing to change software if finance is the overriding factor in the decision making, which often is the case with business choices.
